Diecast Collectible Cars
The Truth About Diecast Collectible Cars
The truth about diecast collectible cars is that you’re probably not going to get rich off of them. Remember the 1990’s? The first warnings of a financial crisis showed up and a few people got rich selling comic books. This prompted everyone and their grandfathers to start buying up every first issue they could.
The idea was that old comics are valuable just because they’re old. Truth is, old comics are only valuable if they’re rare. All those limited edition comic books that people bought in 1995 and put in plastic baggies and never read them? They’re worth about a buck, total, for all of them.
So if you’re getting into diecast collectible cars, know two things...
1- You might stumble upon a couple diecast collectible cars that’ll be worth a pretty penny someday. However, you won’t get ahold of these unless you’re a serious collector. It’s kind of like playing the lottery. Most tickets aren’t worth jack, but one or two of them are.
2- You probably won’t get rich. You might make a few bucks if you want to sell your collection ten or twenty years from now, but the truth is that most collectibles are pretty common. Going back to the comic book example, how rare do you think a comic book is if everyone and their grandpa’s bought three copies, sealed them in plastic and hid them in a vault? Not very.
So collect diecast collectible cars because you like them, not because you think they’ll make you rich.
