First Gear Diecast
A Look At First Gear Diecast
First Gear diecast is a really cool company that goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to scale model replicas.
You know how model railroad sets have all sorts of miniatures to go along with them? Tiny trees, buildings, railroad stations, lights, everything you could possible want to create a realistic scene for your model railroad, you can get ahold of it. This has never been true for diecast model cars though, so why not?
Well First Gear diecast has changed that. They don’t just make cars, they make miniature lube cans and they even do custom tooling and imprinting for diecast model cars.
That’s what’s so great about First Gear diecast, they’re not just selling model cars, they’re also letting you build a whole scene around them, which is, let’s be honest, a lot more fun than most adults are willing to admit.
First Gear diecast works with a sort of a vintage theme, so most of their models reflect the Golden Age of the road, the fifties and sixties when everybody and their grandpa hit the highways and just drove around all day. An exciting era that’s now gone, and commemorated with First Gear’s model cars like the Alis-Chalmer 1956 Ford pickup, and a sixties themed set with Volkswagen vans and muscle cars.
The models are built to 1/32 scale, so smaller than the full size replicas most people make, but much larger than the 1/64 you see with Hot Wheels and Matchbox diecast model cars.
